Frequently Asked Questions

  • Most definitely! We all have to start somewhere. I like to think of the workshop as a space where there are the tools, equipment and materials you need and the space is yours to do with what you please. I’m there to help guide and instruct as much or as little as you might like or need, otherwise it’s an open space to make the “mistakes” and learn from them! I too am learning all the time with clay – my journey with ceramics is towards the beginning, I just love sharing the material and my bit of knowledge with others and hope we all take something from the time!

  • Not at all – it’s always great if someone comes in with an idea as to what they would like to make although allowing yourself the freedom to just have a go is very special. Try not to come with an expectation as to what you think you might be able to achieve.

  • No, clay has many processes to go through before it is ready to be taken home. Depending on the season and time of year it can take somewhere between 4-8 weeks for a piece to have made it through both firings, I get in touch with photos once the piece is ready and you can either collect from the shop if you live locally or I package them up and send them.

  • Yes – Aprons are provided although be aware that clay has a tendency to get everywhere, it comes off clothes in a 40C wash and I always recommend to wash hands and arms in warm water and moisturise at the end of the day

  • Absolutely! If it’s a celebration please feel free to bring a bottle, just let me know beforehand so I can make sure I have some goblets ready!
